Upanishads is the live project of Toronto musician Debashis Sinha, created for the exploration of the sacred texts and foundations of sound. Rooted in the world of electronic and beat-based music, Sinha draws from years of experience in the world music scene, sound design, sound art and his experience as a second generation south Asian Canadian. Committed to the primacy of sound, Sinha aims to expand the notions of what it means to express and be influenced by a life in/between cultures.
