Established in 1997, Small World Music Society is a charitable organization that has earned a cherished place within Toronto’s cultural fabric, with a reputation as the city’s premier presenter of culturally diverse music. With its commitment to supporting local artists, fellow presenters, community groups and audiences, Small World truly is ‘The Beat of the Globe in the Heart of Toronto!’
As a not-for-profit & registered charity, Small World embraces its community role and welcomes active participation in our programming in a variety of ways:
Emerging, newcomer and refugee musicians are welcome to apply to our signature professional development program (January to August 2020), which will bring together a group of 15-20 musicians who perform a diverse array of music. eMERGEnce arms participants with the tools and experiences to sustain careers with activities falling under six categories: Career-development workshops, networking opportunities, music incubator, collateral creation, mentorship, and performance opportunities.
Please use the application form to submit an eMERGEnce application by December 15, 11:59 p.m.
Artists are welcome to apply to participate in our concert and workshop programming. Small World presentations include performers from every corner of the globe and from right around the corner for events that take place in concert halls, on outdoor festival stages and in clubs, across the Greater Toronto Area.
