Asian Music Series

April 3 - May 31, 2020

*IMPORTANT UPDATE*
With all programming at the Small World Centre cancelled until further notice due to COVID-19 pandemic, our annual Asian Music Series has been cancelled. Two of our Asian Music Series artists will be showcased in Small World’s daylong program as part of the new livestream platform, MusicTogether. We’re excited to partner with MT to celebrate diverse voices, and to include Amely Zhou (part of the ‘Borderless’ project) and sarod maestro, Arnab Chakrabarty, among the ten artists showcased each hour between 11am and 8pm on Thursday, May 7th.
We thank all of the participating artists for their commitment and will ensure that they get back on stage at the earliest opportunity. We also want to express gratitude to our funders and long-time series sponsor TD Bank Group for their support in these trying days.

Throughout April and May, Small World proudly presents the 18th Edition of its Asian Music Series – embracing the scope of sounds from across the Asian cultural landscape. The series celebrates Asian and South Asian Heritage Month and is generously supported by TD Bank Group.

Partnering with premier presenters across the region, the program brings together emerging artists with internationally renowned figures, engaging communities around the GTA and showcasing the finest sounds on the best stages.

From stars of Indian classical music to emerging Canadian talent pushing the boundaries of sound, the program is eclectic and wide-ranging in its reach. It's designed to offer diverse audiences a choice of exciting performances and insights into how music from the Asian diaspora is thriving in Toronto.

We thank the following who made the Asian Music Series possible
