"This is big: breakout Toronto band 7Sould is bringing something completely different to the international music scene,” claims Dolce Magazine. The Toronto-based 7Sould merges history, heritage and modern sounds in a way that has never been heard before. Led by co-founders Joaquin Nunez Hidalgo (Musical Director and drums-percussion) and Mark Daniels (congas, percussion and Executive Producer), 7Sould’s original Canadian music comes to life through the talents of a diverse array of 12 musicians with roots in Cuba, Jamaica, Korea, Philippines, Poland, India, the Philippines, Quebec and Armenia. The musicians all come from different parts of the world and represent a wide array of cultural backgrounds and they fuse that to create a sound and experience that truly reflects the culturally diverse ethnic mosaic of Toronto. “7Sould could easily be the poster band for multicultural Toronto,” says Errol Nazareth of CBC Radio One. Their much anticipated debut album, Home to You was released in late July and is currently tracking in the top 10 on the charts across Canada. 7Sould presented “Underneath”, a multi-dimensional musical and dance spectacle that debuted on the main stage of The Beaches Jazz Festival in July in front of a packed audience.
